Hai aabidon ko ta’at-o-tajarid ke khushi
aur zahidon ko zuhad ke tamahid ke khushi
rind aashiqon ko hai kai umeed ke khushi
kuch dil-baron ke val ke kuch did ke khushi
aisi na shab-e-barat na baqrid ke khushi
jaisi har ek dil mein hai is id ke khushi
pichale pahar se uth ke nahane ke dhum hai
shir-o-shakar sivayyan pakane ke dhum hai
pir-o-javan ko nema’ten khane ke dhum hai
ladako ko id-gah ke jane ke dhum hai
aisi na shab-e-barat na baqrid ke khushi
jaisi har ek dil mein hai is id ke khushi
koi to mast phirta hai jam-e-sharab se
koi pukarata hai ke choote azab se
kalla kisi ka phula hai laddu ke chab se
chatakaren jee mein bharate hain nan-o-kabab se
aisi na shab-e-barat na baqrid ke khushi
jaisi har ek dil mein hai is id ke khushi
kya hi muanqe ke machi hai ulat palat
milate hain daud daud ke baham jhapat jhapat
phirate hain dil-baron ke bhi galiyon mein gat ke gat
aashiq maze udate hain har dam lipat lipat
aisi na shab-e-barat na baqrid ke khushi
jaisi har ek dil mein hai is id ke khushi
kajal hina gazab masi-o-pan ke dhadi
pishavazen surkh sausani lahi ke phul-jhadi
kurti kabhi dikha kabhi angiya kasi kadi
kah “id id” luten hain dil ko ghadi ghadi
aisi na shab-e-barat na baqrid ke khushi
jaisi har ek dil mein hai is id ke khushi
roze ke khushkiyon se jo hain zard zard gal
khush ho gaye wo dekhte hi id ka hilal
poshaken tan mein zard, sunahari safed lal
dil kya ke hans raha hai pada tan ka bal bal
aisi na shab-e-barat na baqrid ke khushi
jaisi har ek dil mein hai is id ke khushi
jo jo ke un ke husn ke rakhte hain dil se chah
jate hain un ke sath ta ba-id-gah
topon ke shor aur doganon ke rasm-o-rah
mayane, khilone, sair, maze, aish, vah-vah
aisi na shab-e-barat na baqrid ke khushi
jaisi har ek dil mein hai is id ke khushi
aisi na shab-e-barat na baqrid ke khushi
jaisi har ek dil mein hai is id ke khushi
rozon ke sakhtiyon mein na hote agar amir
to aisi id ke na khushi hoti dil-pazir
sab shad hain gada se laga shah ta vazir
dekha jo hum ne khub to sach hai miyan “nazeer”
